Low pallet stackers - universal, reliable transporters
Find out everything you need to know about the most important stacker models, their application fields, and their advantages and disadvantages.
Low pallet stackers - universal, reliable transporters
Profile: Indoor use, manual or electric, primarily ground level transportation of pallets, load capacity up to 2t, lift height up to 250mm.
Low pallet stackers lift goods only slightly above floor height for transportation. This means they are designed only for horizontal transport, and not suitable for stacking goods on shelves or loading trucks. Low pallet stackers have many different names. Manual variants are often known as hand pallet trucks or manual forklifts. The term Ameise is also used, after a Jungheinrich pallet truck model of that name. Hand pallet trucks have a simple design. They consist of a fork attached to a set of wheels. On the other side is a tow bar, which can be used to pull and steer the pallet truck. The fork can be lifted and lowered slightly using a hydraulic mechanism. Depending on the weight of the goods and the transportation distance, it may be very difficult to transport goods using a hand pallet truck, and an electrically operated low pallet stacker may offer better comfort. Electric low pallet stackers are primarily differentiated by whether the driver operates the low pallet stacker from sitting or standing, or whether they need to walk along with it.
Pedestrian or walkie stackers
Pedestrian low pallet stackers are very similar to manual hand pallet trucks. They are controlled via a tow bar and the “driver” walks along the transport distance. However, the pallet truck is electrically operated and does not have to be physically pulled along. These are also called semi-electric low pallet stackers. Electric pallet trucks are, therefore, primarily suitable for short transportation distances and do not require a forklift driver’s license
Electric low pallet stacker with driver’s platform
Called driver’s platform pallet trucks or standing pallet trucks, these offer the driver the option of driving while standing. Generally, a platform can be folded out for the driver to stand on if desired. This allows the low pallet stacker to be used while walking, or standing on it. However, there are also models that can only be used as a standing pallet truck, because the driver's area is surrounded like a cabin up to hip height. They are also steered via a small tow bar, and have an electric drive. Due to the option of riding on the low pallet stacker, these machines with a driver’s platform are also suitable for longer transportation distances.
Electric low pallet stacker with driver’s seat
If the low pallet stacker is in continuous use, then a version with a driver’s seat is a good idea. The driver can operate the device while seated, comfortably covering even long transportation distances. Since the seat is aligned transverse to the fork, these devices are also called lateral seat forklifts.
Hand pallet trucks and electric low pallet stackers are offered by many manufacturers. At Supralift, you can purchase or rent used low pallet stackers from manufacturers such as Linde, Jungheinrich, STILL, BT or Toyota.
