Used reach stackers, like container handlers, are used to transport containers. Their high lifting capacity of around 50t is made possible by a counterweight and therefore a very high dead weight of around 100t.
Because containers are picked up with a telescopic boom, reach stackers can also be described as telescopic boom forklifts. They are used primarily in ports. With the telescopic boom, containers can be stacked six high up to the third row. A wide range of components makes these machines very versatile, for example also for use as cranes.
