Used turret trucks and narrow aisle trucks are used in large warehouses. To make optimum use of the available storage space, racks are often very high and aisles very narrow. For this reason, these vehicles are also called narrow aisle trucks.
Conventional pallet stackers need relatively large manoeuvring space because of their turning circle. Turret trucks are very narrow and manoeuvrable, so they can work in aisles that are barely wider than the truck itself. A swivelling fork, which can be positioned both frontally and at right angles to the vehicle, allows the load to be lifted into the rack without moving the truck. Lift heights of up to 17 m can therefore also be achieved in narrow warehouse aisles.
With man-down turret trucks, the operator remains on the floor, while combination trucks, or man-up turret trucks, lift the operator together with the load so that the loading process at the rack can be monitored.
