Used pallet trucks lift goods only a few centimetres for horizontal transport. They are not suitable for stacking goods or lifting them into a rack, for example. Most models have two fork arms for picking up pallets.
Pallet transport is the main application for pallet trucks. There are manual hand pallet trucks, which have to be pulled by the operator, and electric models, where the operator walks along and steers. Electric drive is indispensable for large and heavy models that can move loads of up to three tonnes.
If loads also have to be lifted to greater heights, for example to load a lorry or a rack, then pallet stackers, 3-wheel counterbalanced forklifts or 4-wheel counterbalanced forklifts are required, depending on the application.
