Used tow tractors can be understood as towing vehicles that pull entire trains of trailers behind them. They have no forks and cannot be used for lifting or stacking.
Tow tractors are available in different sizes and with different drive types. Smaller electric tow tractors pull rolling containers with raw materials to production departments, for example, whereas large diesel tow tractors can manoeuvre entire semi-trailers around the company yard. At airports, baggage containers are towed to the respective aircraft or baggage belts. Aircraft are also brought to their parking positions with tow tractors.
Hybrid design is common. It uses a combination of electric motor and combustion engine for the drive. The major advantage of hybrid drive is its flexible use indoors and outdoors. This allows loads to be moved both in the production facility and outside.
