Warehouse Floors
The Warehouse Floor shall be capable of withstanding strenuous floor load
conditions. Forklifts and transport equipment with small diameter wheels are susceptible
to minor floor height deviations causing them to sway as they travel. Vehicle sway becomes
problematic with mast extension while traveling with loads. Also consideration should be
given to floor loading - rack upright foot prints require increased load ratings.
Repeated vehicle operation on the same path may cause floors to crack if not
engineered to meet these requirements.
Wire guided operation - pay close attention to
slab joints. Avoid placing wire guide paths along the edge of a slab (expansion joint).
Expansion joints should be hidden under the rack outline. When unavoidable the expansion
joint should cross the path in a perpendicular fashion.
