Standards and Norms

Standardisation maintained by specialists at large, which has been taken over into the German body of standards as "Deutsche Industrie Norm" (German industrial standard). It is prepared systematically and jointly by experts from industry and science. Subject of technical standards are, for example, definition of concepts, calculation algorithms, symbols, dimensions, safety principles, quality and delivery conditions, etc. Like guidelines standards are not legally binding but are to be seen as recommendation.
