Stability
Stability
Measure against overturning of trucks. Stability is present if the sum of the standing torques is higher than the sum of the overturning torques. Reference value for the determination of torques is the tipping line. For three-wheel lift trucks, for example, the tipping line is determined by the connection of the three tread areas. Standing torques are the products of all forces that are located within the ground base and the distance of their point of application with respect to the considered tipping line. Overturning torques are the products of all forces that are located outside the ground base and the distance of their point of application with respect to the considered tipping line.
