Resistive Switch Circuit

Oldest type of drive control of electrically driven industrial trucks. Power is controlled in steps by connection respectively disconnecting resistors. The disadvantage is the fact that the part of the power that is absorbed by the resistors is transformed into heat and thus this energy is lost. Energy consumption can be reduced by using a split battery. For this method the battery halves are connected in parallel for lowenergy demand and in series for high energy demand. Thus the battery voltage is reduced for low energy demand, the energy output is reduced, and the necessity for heat transformation is also reduced.
