Drivers License
A drivers license serves to authorise that individual to operate a specific vehicle type or
class of equipment.
Forklift Truck Driver License Requirements for vehicles operated indoors with a sitting
or standing operator should include the following conditions:
- • Minimum operator age of 18 years
- • Skill and training for the task (vehicle operation)
- • Understanding of all safety rules & regulations
The license should be issued by the company in which the forklift will be placed in service and the driver is an employee.
In order to transport people - the owner is required to authorise only operation of vehicles suited and designed for such a transportation application.
If the vehicle operates on public roads local or federal regulations for the operations of a motor vehicle take precedence and must be followed.
For tiller-controlled industrial trucks with a travel speed limited to 6 km/h no driving licence is needed.
