Drive Diesel-Electric

Combination of combustion engine and electric drive. The combustion engine is directly connected to a generator. The generator current feeds the drive motors. Since the drive motor speed is dependent of the combustion engine speed, the travel speed can be continuously controlled by means of the accelerator pedal. There is no need for a clutch or a shift transmission.
