Dead weight
Dead Weight
Mass of a body in kg or t. The dead weight, also known as service weight, of industrial trucks is determined by weighing and must be in listed as technical data on the identification plate. The weight of an industrial truck is determined without payload and weight of the driver. For lift trucks with battery-electric drive the battery weight is part of the dead weight required for stability. Since the battery weight depends on the battery capacity, the weight must possibly be compensated for batteries with lower capacity.
