Chassis Weight

The Chassis Weight is the actual weight of the vehicle without operator or transported load. When calculating this weight for an electric vehicle, the battery weight is added to this figure. The electric vehicle has a minimum weight requirement to operate safely. The added weight may also be added in the form of additional counterweight. The chassis weight of the forklift must be considered when review floor loading conditions and elevator capacities.
