Driverless - Automated Guided Vehicle Systems (AGVs) transport / store / stack loads without an
operator. The automated turret truck is known as an NAV (Narrow Aisle Vehicle) automated
guided vehicle.
Systems consist of:
- • automatic self controlled electric vehicle
- • floor system (guidance / code markers etc.)
- • computer system
The driverless vehicles obtain tasks and traffic control information usually via data communications systems (RF - radio frequency or IR - infrared modem) from the host or controlling computer.
Basic floor systems consist of:

- • power or charge rails
- • optical path
- • wire guide path
- • laser guidance
