Attachments
Attachments
Attachments are special load handling devices that expand the forklift vehicles capability beyond that of simple pallet handling. Attachments can be added or integrated into the design of the forklift.
Types of attachment are:
- • Non-moveable attachement: without its own movement control (e.g.. fork extensions, mulitple forks, crane arm, carpet ram/boom etc.)
- • Moveable attachment: with vehicle controls (e.g. push-pull attachment, paper-roll clamp, carton clamp, sideshift attachment etc.)
Attachments can be powered by - pneumatics - hydraulics - electrics - mechanical motion
The added weight and attachment dimensions must be considered on the vehicles capacity plate. The lost load centre (LLC) and capacity are critical to safe operation of the forklift.
