Used reach trucks are mostly used in large warehouses where especially long and bulky loads need to be moved. Their key feature is the reach mast: the mast and forks can extend out of the chassis to pick up the goods and are then pulled back towards the truck. This clearly distinguishes reach trucks from used pallet stackers, where the mast cannot be extended forwards.
Because of the extendable mast, reach trucks need a relatively small counterweight and can lift the goods very high. Lift heights of more than ten metres are possible. The operator often sits sideways to the direction of travel, which is ideal for manoeuvring in narrow aisles and for handling long, bulky goods.
The typical application is the warehouse, meaning indoor use. Due to their low emissions, electric forklift trucks are mainly used here. However, reach trucks with diesel drive are also available.
On Supralift, you will find a wide range of used reach trucks from manufacturers such as Jungheinrich, Linde, STILL, Toyota, Atlet, Clark and more.

Reach trucks are designed for use in warehouses with narrow aisles and high racking. Thanks to their design, they can safely store and retrieve loads even at high lift heights. Buying a used reach truck can be a good choice, as used reach trucks are cheaper than new vehicles.
HIGH LIFT HEIGHTS
Reach trucks are specially designed for high racking and, depending on the model, can reach lift heights of well over 10 metres. This makes them particularly suitable for high-bay warehouses.
HIGH MANOEUVRABILITY
Thanks to their compact design and retractable mast, reach trucks require comparatively little space for manoeuvring. They are therefore particularly well suited to narrow warehouse aisles.
HIGH RESIDUAL LOAD CAPACITY
Even at high lift heights, reach trucks can still move comparatively heavy loads safely. This makes them particularly suitable for the efficient use of high racking systems.
EFFICIENT USE OF SPACE
Because reach trucks can work in narrow aisles and reach high lift heights, existing warehouse space can be used particularly efficiently. This allows more pallet spaces to be created on the same floor area.
LIMITED RANGE OF USE
Reach trucks are primarily designed for use in warehouses. Uneven floors, steep gradients or permanent outdoor use are less suitable for many models.
HIGHER PURCHASE COSTS
Due to the more complex technology and the high lift heights they can reach, reach trucks are usually significantly more expensive to buy than pallet stackers.
HIGHER MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
Reach trucks have complex lift, drive and reach mast technology. As a result, maintenance and repairs can be more time-consuming and costly than with simpler warehouse equipment.
HIGH REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DRIVER
Working in narrow aisles and at high lift heights requires plenty of practice and a good feel for the load, mast movement and vehicle dimensions.
CONCLUSION
Reach trucks are particularly suitable for high lift heights in narrow warehouse aisles. If goods mainly need to be transported over longer distances or frequently moved between indoor and outdoor areas, a used electric forklift is often the better choice.
If, on the other hand, pallets are only moved over short distances and stored or retrieved at lower heights, a used pallet stacker can be the more affordable alternative.

ELECTRIC COUNTERBALANCE FORKLIFT
A 4-wheel or 3-wheel electric counterbalance forklift is much more expensive to buy than a pallet stacker, but it is more robust, more stable and also faster. If very heavy loads need to be transported over long distances, a pallet stacker is often not sufficient. Electric counterbalance forklifts are also better suited for outdoor use, as they do not place such high demands on floor conditions.

PALLET TRUCKS
Pallet stackers and pallet trucks essentially differ only in lift height. Pallet trucks lift a pallet only a few centimetres to move it from A to B, but they cannot load racking or ramps. Both pallet trucks and pallet stackers are available as pedestrian-operated equipment or with a driver platform or driver seat.

PALLET STACKERS
Pallet stackers are designed for transporting pallets and storing and retrieving them in racking. Depending on the model, they reach lift heights of up to around 5–6 metres while remaining more compact and usually cheaper than classic forklifts. Pallet stackers are also available as pedestrian-operated units as well as with an operator platform or driver’s seat.
