Used pallet stackers are used almost exclusively indoors. Unlike 3-wheel or 4-wheel counterbalanced forklift trucks, they do not need a counterweight because the load sits directly above the wheels. There are versions with manually operated hydraulic cylinders and electric variants. The drive, the lift, or both can be motorized.
Because used pallet stackers are mostly used in halls with level floors, they have relatively small wheels and solid rubber tires. Normally, the operator stands next to the truck. There are also variants with an operator platform or driver seat. These models are also well suited for longer travel distances.
Depending on the design and mast, goods can be stacked up to a height of eight meters. If lift height is not important because the equipment is only needed for horizontal transport, pallet trucks or hand pallet trucks are sufficient, as they only lift the goods from the floor to transport height.
At Supralift you will find a wide selection of used pallet stackers from manufacturers such as Jungheinrich, Linde, STILL, Toyota, Atlet, Clark and more.

Pallet stackers are essential in warehouse operations. High racks and narrow aisles in warehouses are their typical areas of use. Buying a used pallet stacker can be a good choice, as used pallet stackers are cheaper than new vehicles.
WIDE VARIETY OF MODELS
Pallet stackers are available in many different versions. Depending on the model, they can lift up to 2,500 kg and reach lift heights of over 5 m. There are so-called pedestrian-operated devices where the "driver" walks, but also pallet stackers with a driver platform or driver seat.
HIGH MANOEUVRABILITY
The aisles in warehouses are usually very narrow and offer little space for manoeuvring. Pallet stackers are very manoeuvrable and designed for use in narrow aisles.
EASY HANDLING
Handling a pallet stacker is quickly learned. Pedestrian-operated equipment only requires instruction from a supervisor. To operate a pallet stacker with a driver platform or driver seat, an industrial truck licence must be presented.
COST-EFFECTIVE
Compared to 4-wheel or 3-wheel forklifts, pallet stackers are much cheaper both to buy and to maintain.
LOW SPEED
Both pedestrian-operated stackers and stackers with a seat or driver platform do not travel much faster than walking speed and are therefore only suitable for short distances.
CHARGING TIMES
As a rule, pallet stackers are electrically powered and must be charged regularly. During charging times, the pallet stacker is not ready for use, which can cause problems in shift operation.
FLOOR REQUIREMENTS
There are rollers under the forks of pallet stackers that require smooth floors. Although pallet stackers can also be used outdoors, they quickly reach their limits on uneven ground.
STABILITY
Pallet stackers do not need a counterweight and some models can lift loads several metres high. Lifting and driving at the same time is not possible, as stability would not be sufficient for this.
CONCLUSION
Pallet stackers are affordable workhorses that should not be missing from everyday warehouse operations. If long distances need to be covered, a used electric forklift may be more suitable.
If goods only need to be lifted a few centimetres for horizontal transport, a used pallet truck is sufficient and can be obtained much more cheaply.

ELECTRIC COUNTERBALANCE FORKLIFT
A 4-wheel or 3-wheel electric counterbalance forklift is much more expensive to buy than a pallet stacker, but it is more robust, more stable and also faster. If very heavy loads need to be transported over long distances, a pallet stacker is often not sufficient. Electric counterbalance forklifts are also better suited for outdoor use, as they do not place such high demands on floor conditions.

PALLET TRUCKS
Pallet stackers and pallet trucks essentially differ only in lift height. Pallet trucks lift a pallet only a few centimetres to move it from A to B, but they cannot load racking or ramps. Both pallet trucks and pallet stackers are available as pedestrian-operated equipment or with a driver platform or driver seat.

REACH TRUCK
Another alternative to the pallet stacker is the reach truck. With these vehicles, the mast can be extended forwards without moving the vehicle itself. Reach trucks are therefore also ideal for tight spaces in warehouses.
